Ratsnest of a Heart was written in the 90's, when I wrote the song it was about a person who I thought was a friend and learned I was wrong. Years later, through much prayer while in an extremely difficult relationship, the scales fell from my eyes, and the Lord pointed me back to this song to help me understand my own ignorance in such matters. He knows all, let the healing continue. :)
