Face Flat Down was written out of the realization of my own depravity. Yet in Jesus I am presented pure to my Heavenly Father. Only in Jesus's world does this make any sense. I remember a sermon Pastor Doug Walker gave. He started out by saying "inside of all of us lies a predator's heart." Just having stepped out of a progressive evangelical church, I didn't know what to think about that. I didn't like it. But the Holy Spirit the pastor was teaching. To this day, in 2019 I still can sit around and not open my Bible. I can find every excuse not to spend intimate time with God.
